Quote: If pvp would be so easy as you claim it to be I wonder, why so few people actual use and enjoy it...
This is because of all the misconceptions people in this game have. It is because when they are in the rookie help chan other rookies who dont know what they are talking about say things like "yeah you really cant go anywhere near unsecure space or you will be insta killed before you load." This stuff molds the way people think about the game and ends up killing the enjoyment for many people.
Fact is they can go and pvp if they want to for almost no work. Use frigs they are very fun to fly and ccp made them able to tangle with anything just so newer players could have pvp fun.
Another thing is that people wont goto 0.0 space because they might lose some stuff. Guess what people if you live in 0.0 it takes no time at all to replace pretty much anything you could possibly loose out there. Many can lose a fitted bship a day for a month without breaking a sweat.
ANYONE can do this. All it takes is getting over some misconceptions that were ingrained into you the first few days you spent playing. When things WERE hard. Stop making things hard on yourselve and come play the game the right way.
Oh and dont go fight pirates as your first pvp experiences. Fighting pirates is boring because thats how pirates have to survive. You need to go find a good reason to fight and the right enemy to do it with. ______________

Quote: Eve has been out for around a year and a half now, and the player base hasn't expanded at all, as is the fashion of any good MMOG. How long before Eve goes the way of another space based MMOG (admittedly comparing Eve to the other unnamed MMOG is like comparing sex to getting extensive dental work) and closes it's jumpgates for the last time?
The population has more than doubled since release. That other space based game was bleeding players from about 2 months in to its close and still took a long time to die. Even if that kind of problems started today eve would last atleast another 1.5-2 years before it was forced to close.
Oh yeah and i remember a year ago just before castor good ole version 1238 there were alot of these threads back then to. Historically the pessimists have been proven wrong again and again. ______________
